Fix Studio Connection and Match Sync Problems

Resolve expired links, wrong-account prompts, revoked connections, missing matches, and sync failures between Padel Pointer and Studio.

Quick fix

Generate a fresh link, verify the masked account before confirming, then retry from Padel Pointer on a stable internet connection. New uploads must be started on iPhone; the Studio web Sync button only refreshes the server view.

Symptoms you might see

  • The Studio link says it is invalid, expired, or already used.
  • Padel Pointer previews the wrong masked Studio account.
  • Settings says Connection revoked or Not connected.
  • A selected match fails or does not appear in Studio.
  • The Studio dashboard does not change after you tap Sync in the browser.
Step 1

Replace an expired or used link

  • Close the old link screen in Padel Pointer and return to Studio.
  • Select Refresh code or Link new device to generate a fresh one-time link.
  • Open the new link within five minutes. Do not reuse a QR-code screenshot because each link works only once.
Step 2

Correct a wrong-account prompt

  • Do not tap Connect if the masked email does not match the intended Studio account.
  • Close Padel Pointer’s confirmation sheet, sign out of Studio in the browser, and sign in to the correct account.
  • Generate a new link. If Padel Pointer shows Switch Studio account, confirm only after checking the new masked account.
Step 3

Recover from a revoked or missing connection

  • In Padel Pointer Settings, check the Studio status and connected account.
  • If the status is Revoked or Not connected, open Studio, choose Link new device, and link the iPhone again.
  • Reinstalling the app, restoring to a different phone, or losing secure device storage can require a fresh connection.
Step 4

Retry failed or missing matches

  • Keep Padel Pointer open, confirm the iPhone has internet access, and run Sync matches again.
  • Use Retry Failed Matches if it appears. Otherwise select the failed match again and start a new sync.
  • In the Studio browser, refresh the dashboard after the iPhone reports success.
  • If the match exists but cannot create an automatic overlay, check whether it has a usable point timeline. Older or manually added matches may still sync as records without automatic timing.
Step 5

Know what the web Sync button does

  • The Studio dashboard Sync button asks the server for the latest data already uploaded by linked iPhones.
  • It cannot reach into Padel Pointer or start a new phone upload.
  • To send a new match, use Settings > Padel Pointer Studio > Sync matches on iPhone first.

Check the fix

  • Padel Pointer Settings shows Studio as Connected with the expected masked account.
  • The iPhone sync results show the match as successfully created or updated.
  • Refreshing Studio shows the match in the correct account and device view.

Frequently asked questions

Why does Refresh code invalidate the previous QR code?

Only one pending secure link should be used. Generating a fresh code replaces the earlier pending session so an old screen cannot create an unexpected connection.

Why did disconnecting fail while I was offline?

Padel Pointer first asks Studio to revoke the connection. If the server cannot be reached, the app keeps the connection state instead of claiming it was safely revoked. Reconnect to the internet and try again.

Why is a match visible but not ready for automatic overlay timing?

Automatic timing needs point-by-point timestamps. Some manual, imported, legacy, or abandoned matches do not contain a complete usable timeline, even though their score can still appear in Studio.
